Halloween!!!!

I love Fall and this year has been so much fun. With two kids comes twice the fun. So I am big on holidays. I have always loved them and I want my kids to love them just as much. So, I go all out and do as many fun things as I can. This year for Halloween We took Riley to a pumpkin patch so she could pick out the perfect pumpkin (with direction from me of course). We proceeded to take it home and carve it. She was thrilled to have her own jack-o-lantern. Both kids got decked out in the PJs and Riley went bobbing for apples. But her favorite part was trick-or-treating. Riley was Spider Girl and Peyton Was a dinosaur. We went to old Flag where all the shop owners gave out candy and everyone from town was dressed up. It was awesome. Then we took her to a nice neighborhood to trick-or-treat. She completely loved it. And if the home owner didn’t give her enough she would continue to hold out her bucket till she got more. That’s my girl. She is too darn cute and gets what she wants. Peyton loved the busyness and loved watching Riley. My life just keeps getting better!!!!

State Fair

So we decided to go to the State Fair and I am way glad that we did. It was truly a great break for me to get out of Flagstaff and enjoy time with the Family. Riley had a blast. She enjoyed the petting zoo and all of the animals. She also loved the toddler area where she played her heart out and the big slide. Peyton loved all of the attention that he got from NANA and GRANDAD and all of the lights. Us big kids enjoyed visiting and watching the little ones. Oh, ya, and all of that greasy fair food. Can’t wait till next year when we can go again. It was well worth it.

They have the coolest train display. I love all of the work that they put into it.
One day Riley will make a hard worker. Right now she is just hard work :)

Labor Day Weekend

Yes, I know that I am a procrastinator. However, that is just me. So what has happened since the last time? Over Labor Day we had Pat’s cousins come from CA to visit and whenever the Mason/Shipley clan are with us we are never board. We spent the weekend BBQ-ing, fishing, and laughing. It was a lot of fun. Pat was also able to give Peyton his baby blessing with our loved ones present. Well, some of them anyhow. It was wonderful and I am so grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder as my hubby and father of our beautiful children. So here are some of our favorite pics of the weekend.

SUMMER

Summer has been full of adventures if nothing else!

After the birth of our son we went to Eagar to spend time with family. It was a wonderful time where Riley was able to spend lots of time with cousins and me with brothers and sisters. While in Eagar we did a number of things. We spent a lot of time at the park. We also went to a family reunion in Luna where the kids played in the creek and played in the water. We even camped out there and us three girls (Heather, KJ, and myself) visited all night as the younger kids decided not to sleep. We went to Luna for the 24th of July celebrations where we attended the rodeo, had a picnic, and went to the Ranch.

We had so much fun as we celebrated birthdays and memories. We played cards (hand and foot), cried and laughed, fought and played. All the fun things that kids do. Everyone had the chance to get sick in someway and we even survived that. We caught crawdads and floated down the river. Jack, Pat, and Brady went spotlighting with and old friend (AN EXPERIENCE THEY WILL NEVER FORGET).We were able to spend a lot of time with the Brendon Lewis family (our favorite cousins), had KJ’s reception, and make memories with each other. The best part of this wonderful summer was for us older kids to get together and watch our kids interact while we visited. There is nothing more important than family and the love that we have for each other. Given the recent incident with Heather we have come to realize that all the more.We are so very blessed.
